I had the same issue with my Cricut Explore Air 2, but couldn't post a reply to the original thread. Resetting the Bluetooth configuration is what worked for me:
Be warned that if you're on a Mac with a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse, this solution may prove challenging in places.
